The Other Side of the Friend Zone
I’m honestly more surprised that there is no name for the people who have friends who have feelings for them. A lot of the time, these people are vilified because they won’t date the person they friend zoned. I honestly think that’s wrong. You can’t vilify people just because of their preference not to date their best friend.
Believe it or not, these are people too. They have lives. They have their preferences. They have their dislikes. They have friends, partners, parents, family, thoughts, feelings, all those things that you have too.
They’re wonderful people. Why else would people like them? They have that certain something that just makes you happy. But what do they think of their friends? Do they see them as possible partners? Or do they see them as friends?
That is entirely up to them. Some of them will probably realize that their friend likes them. Others will have no clue at all. Some will say yes, others will say no.
Regardless, they’re people. People who want friends. People who want lovers. People who want just sex. People who don’t want sex.
In short, the friend zone doesn’t just affect the person in it. It doesn’t have to be a bad thing. The friend zone doesn’t have to be a prison that you’re shunned to forever. You live by the choices you make. Don’t dwell on failures. Keep striving towards what makes you happy.
It says something about the culture we live in that you felt the need to post this. If someone cares about another they should be able to see everything here.
