Damn it, I should never have asked what his deal was when we first saw him.
Still, if she was abusive, then I’d say he got out pretty light. And by “pretty light” I mean “got out at all”. Could have been much worse than just a slap and a see ya later.
Assuming, of course, that the ex doesn’t come back for round 2.
…
Now that I’ve said it, that’s exactly what’s going to happen, isn’t it?
Abusive relationships can take many forms other than physical and restrictive. Mental, emotional and social abuses are far more scaring, but leave no marks.
And with studies of murderer tendancies in the guise of brutality, devided by gender, typically males go for more physical pain, where the whole “you’ll never leave alive” comes in while females tend to use more psychological forms, that take less physical strength to perform. Murder weapo s are the same.
That said, and reading this strip, he might have broken up with her, but he still isn’t out… The psychological aspects of her abuse are still lingering in his mind and preventing him to live life to the fullest.
But I could be wrong…
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Poor Peter. At least Violet has some experience dealing with people with problems.
